Edw. C. YoungSocial Security is neither social, nor secure.
About This Quote
Social Security is neither social, nor secure. As a society, we have agreed that if a person working for a certain company gets sick or dies, the company must pay a certain amount of money to his or her family. This money is called Social Security. However, the system is not secure.
If the country were not strong enough to pay these benefits, Social Security would be in danger. In the past, the country would run out of money to pay for Social Security. To prevent this from happening, there would need to be a government plan to save Social Security from running out of money.
The government would work with other countries to create a new plan that was both social and secure.
